About The Company

Although there is very little information about who the founders of this company are, it has developed a sizable reputation since its inception, both good and bad, its one of those.

Power by Lightspeed GMI which provides a global solution for companies that want to conduct online consumer research across the globe.

Global Test Market is a international market research company that pays its members for participating and completing online surveys (always read terms and conditions).

Once you are registered you will randomly receive surveys via email based on your profile description and details. Upon completion you will be rewarded with points that can later be converted to funds or online shopping vouchers. You can request payouts through PayPal or use shopping vouchers on sites like Amazon.

My Personal Opinion and Experience

One of the main reasons I have given this company a 2 out of 10 rating is because they hardly ever answer emails or queries and communication is vital! When I studied the reasons why people give negative ratings, the main issue is always communication. The longer you leave your customer hanging the sooner they will let go, will more likely give you negative feedback and will never return or recommend you to anyone else.

There are also several other reasons listed below.

One day when I tried to log in everything was in Chinese, I had to wait about 3 days before the problem mysteriously resolved itself. Received no reply from the help center to this day (spam folder checked) after inquiring several times.

Once I completed a certain amount of surveys (approximately 10) and had accumulated 1070 points which is close to the first $10 payout threshold, all of a sudden the surveys stopped arriving in my inbox (spam folder checked). I have also read on forums that some members have had their accounts terminated when they try to initiate a payout once they manage to reach a payout threshold. I have not been able to get this far to verify this (how convenient) but the problems don’t end there…

Apparently they don’t support or permit the affiliate program here in South Africa and provide no valid reason for this, additionally I cannot partake in sweepstakes.

They change their redemption values, meaning their point system conversion values change. This can lead to confusion or mistrust in the long run unless there is a valid reason openly provided.

They seem illusive or apathetic in quite a few areas given their 17+ year history and experience.

I get screened out of about 70{87e56780531fb49397975d6ccdf5fd583fe12882c640bab7ecd9d9198b593911} of the surveys which is silly because the system should determine if I qualify according to my extensive profile description which I fully completed. I get asked obvious questions like “Are you male or female?” or “Where do you live?” and “What is your age?” This is all provided in my profile GTM.

They also tend to ask questions that are not related to the content of the survey like “What are your political views?” and “What religion do you follow?” or “Are you a gun owner?”… is GTM screening individuals for FEMA camps or what? ^^,

According to some members they have waited up to 8 weeks for payouts (the ones who are fortunate enough to get that far). Not very motivational.

The surveys generally take longer than estimated.

Unfortunately this has not been a rewarding experience for me as yet.

This is what they offer and as you will see their redemption values change over time.

Website Feedback

For such a reputable company with a long history in my opinion they have made little effort (if any at all) to make their website exciting or inspiring! The content is generally boring and formal, there is lack of “personality”.

The interface is fairly easy to navigate, the content is readable and friendly to the eyes.

Overall Evaluation & Conclusion

According to reviews and forums I realize this company has worked for many others and this review is based solely on my personal experience.

Overall this company has only been able to disappoint and frustrate me thus far. They give the impression that they really don’t care about me as a member. It seems they are more focused on data mining than providing their users with a rewarding experience as they claim. Sorry guys “Don’t believe you until you PROVE it”.

Rating: 2 out of 10.

Always room for improvement so if my experience changes I will be sure to edit my rating and description, till then I’m still waiting for a email reply (its been 2 weeks now) and no more surveys coming in.

Please feel free to comment bellow if you have questions, concerns or any feedback. I will be happy to assist in any way possible 😉

Best regards,

    Hi Kamil,

Wow! I can see why you gave this company a 2 out of 10 rating! I haven’t tried this company; however, I have tried other “get paid to take surveys” sites, and I have never had much success. My biggest frustration is getting kicked out of 80{87e56780531fb49397975d6ccdf5fd583fe12882c640bab7ecd9d9198b593911}-90{87e56780531fb49397975d6ccdf5fd583fe12882c640bab7ecd9d9198b593911} of the surveys I try to take. Then there are the offers. I don’t enjoy getting tons of emails and phone calls after I have signed up. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Thank you for your comment Kathy.

There are many people who have succeeded with surveys but personally I have not been able to make much money from it.
I could recommend something like Ciao which is similar but you write reviews and they have a similar community to WA just not so focused on training that much but its free.

Wish you all the best Kathy 😉

Yes surveys can be really good if you stay in the right location (country). Mostly rewarding in the US and Europe.
